Nittany Lion Hotline Has 2009-10 Debut on Thursday; 40 Stations in Four States to Carry Program

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., - Forty radio stations in four states and GoPSUsports.com will carry the Penn State Sports Network's Nittany Lion Hotline in 2009-10, with the season debut program set to air on Thursday, August 20.

The one hour call-in program airs every Thursday at 6:05 p.m. from late August through mid-March. The debut show will feature 2009 football co-captains Daryll Clark (Youngstown, Ohio) and Sean Lee (Pittsburgh) and the August 27 program will feature assistant coaches Tom Bradley and Galen Hall. Coach Joe Paterno is on the program during the football season. The basketball season features Nittany Lion coach Ed DeChellis.

Members of the football and Nittany Lion basketball teams also will be guests on the program.

Fans can call 1-800-52-LIONS (525-4667) to ask questions of the coaches and student-athletes.

Steve Jones, the radio play-by-play voice of the Nittany Lion football and basketball teams, is host of The Nittany Lion Hotline. Jeff Tarman is the producer of the show, which is a presentation of Penn State Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports.

In addition to the 40 stations carrying the program, Nittany Lion Hotline and all Penn State football and basketball broadcasts can be heard on the 60-station Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics. In order to listen to the streamed Hotline broadcast on GoPSUsports.com, listeners will need to subscribe to Penn State All-Access on the front page of the website.

Nittany Lion Hotline can be heard on stations throughout Pennsylvania as well as New York City and northern New Jersey, Youngstown, Ohio and Hagerstown, Md.

No. 8 Penn State hosts Akron in the season opener on Sept. 5 at 12:00 p.m. in Beaver Stadium. The contest will air on the Big Ten Network, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
