Lady Lions Announce Get to Know Her Drawing Contest

2009-10 Get to Know Her Drawing Contest Entry Form

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Lady Lion basketball team will hold a "Get to Know Her" Kids Drawing Contest. Young Lady Lion fans are asked to draw their favorite Lady Lions or favorite experiences with Lady Lions. The winner of the contest will receive a private pizza party with the Lady Lions for the winner and five of their friends. The contest's runner-up will be a Kid on the Bench for a Lady Lion game and the third place finisher will receive an autographed basketball. To be eligible for the contest, entrants must be in eighth grade or younger.Entries must be received by Monday, Feb. 1 to be considered.

Entry forms are available on GoPSUsports.com or by contacting Rachel Rito in the Lady Lion Basketball office at 814-863-2672. The drawing contest is part of the Big Ten's "Get to Know Her" program, which is in its second season. The program is intended to give fans a chance to see the non-basketball side of their favorite Lady Lions via multimedia tools and on-campus functions.

Fans of all ages can enroll in the incentive-laden "Get to Know Her" program at Lady Lion Basketball games. Just for signing up for the program, fans will get a Penn State t-shirt. With five punches, fans will receive an autographed team poster. Fans can work their way to 10 punches, which will earn them an autographed team basketball. If fans have perfect attendance for Lady Lion regular-season game (14 punches), they will get an engraved mini Nittany Lion statue and will be entered to win the Get to Know Her grand prize.

Lady Lion Basketball season tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY or 814-863-1000. Season tickets are $117 for adults, $52 for youth and $91 for seniors. The Lady Lions open their season with an exhibition game against Indiana (Pa.) on Sun., Nov. 8. Penn State fans that attend the Indiana football game can use their football ticket to receive buy one ticket, get one free ticket for the Lady Lions' home opener against NJIT on Sun., Nov. 15.

The 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m., as the Lady Lions take on Illinois in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen on www.bigtennetwork.com. The first three Pink Zone events have raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer awareness. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
