Penn State Wraps Up Third Day of Play at ITA Regional Championships

NORFOLK, Va.; - On the third day of play in Norfolk, senior Ryan Gormley (Las Vegas, Nev.) and freshman Warren Hardie (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) dropped a tough 8-3 decision to Virginia's Jamere Jenkins and Michael Shabaz in the ITA Regional doubles quarterfinal.

In other doubles action, junior Eddie Bourchier (Hobart, Australia) and sophomore Jason Lee (Melbourne, Australia) put up a fight against Houston Barrick and Sanam Singh of Virginia before falling 8-4 in the quarterfinal.

Bourchier , the lone Nittany Lion in today's singles action, fell to Virginia's top-ranked Singh in third round, 6-2, 6-1

The doubles semifinals and finals are slated for Sunday. The singles semifinals are scheduled for Sunday and the finals will take place on Monday.

Up next for the Nittany Lions is the Big Ten Singles Tournament, which is slated for Oct. 29-Nov. 2 in East Lansing, Mich. Penn State will begin dual match play on Jan. 24 with a doubleheader matchup at home with Princeton and Lehigh.
