UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Lady Lions and local businesswoman Mimi Barash Coppersmith are teaming up to raise funds for the 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State. Proceeds from Coppersmith's "Lunch with Mimi Live!" on Thursday, October 29 will benefit the Pink Zone at Penn State fundraising efforts.
"Lunch with Mimi Live!" takes place on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., at the Nittany Lion Inn. This month's luncheon is entitled "Women: Paving the Way to the Future" and features Coppersmith, Pamela Ruest, Centre County Court of Common Pleas, Dr. Donna M. Fick, Penn State Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Jane Ransom, President and CEO of Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA. Tickets to the event are $30 per person and $10 for students.
The 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m., as the Lady Lions take on Illinois in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen on www.bigtennetwork.com. The first three Pink Zone events have raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer awareness. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. Lady Lion Basketball season tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY or 814-863-1000. Season tickets are $117 for adults, $52 for youth and $91 for seniors. The Lady Lions open their season with an exhibition game against Indiana (Pa.) on Sun., Nov. 8. Penn State fans that attend the Indiana football game can use their football ticket to receive buy one ticket, get one free ticket for the Lady Lions' home opener against NJIT on Sun., Nov. 15.
