UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team travels south this weekend to Fort Myers, Fla., to wrap up its 2009 fall season. The Nittany Lions will be competing in The Renaissance Invitational hosted by Xavier. The 12-team field will compete on the par 72, 7,046-yard course at the Renaissance Golf Club.
Teams in attendance include Ball State, Bowling Green, Campbell, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, Marshall, Miami (OH), Liberty, Troy, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
The tournament will begin on Sunday, Nov. 1, with 36 holes and will conclude on Monday, Nov. 2 with the final 18 holes.
The Nittany Lions competing include Kevin Foley (Somerville, N.J.), T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.), Tommy McDonagh (Wilton, Conn.), Ernesto Marin (Miami, Fla.) and Matthew Porter (Cortland, NY). Senior Jim Markovitz (Bridgeville, Pa.) will not be competing due to tendinitis in his right wrist.
