UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Fresh off their fourth consecutive season-opening win over Drexel Friday night, the Lady Lions return to the friendly confines of the Bryce Jordan Center to face NJIT on Sunday at 2 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Lady Lion schedule magnet and Quick Change will be performing at halftime. Penn State fans that attend the Indiana football game can use their football ticket to take advantage of a buy one ticket, get one free ticket promotion for the game against the Highlanders.

RADIO/WEB: The game can be heard on the Penn State Sports Radio Network with Jerry Fisher and Ben Youngerman calling the action. The game will air on the Penn State Sports Network, including locally on ESPN Radio 1450. The audio feed is available at www.GoPSUsports.com. LAST TIME OUT: Senior Tyra Grant registered her first career double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Lions to a 71-61 season-opening win at Drexel Friday. Junior Janessa Wolff also reached double digits for the Lady Lions with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and five rebounds.

SCOUTING NJIT: The Highlanders return seven letterwinners and are led by junior guard Jessica Gerald, who is a first team preseason All-Great West selection. Gerald led NJIT in scoring last season at 16.7 points per game and reached double figures in 16 of her 19 games. The Highlanders also return leading rebounder Taiwo Oyelola (5.7 rpg).

ALL-TIME VS. THE HIGHLANDERS: This is the first ever meeting between the Lady Lions and NJIT.

GRANT EARNS FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Senior Tyra Grant posted her first career double-double in the season-opening win at Drexel Friday. She had a team-high 25 points to go along with a career-best 11 rebounds. Her 11 rebounds surpass her career previous mark set Xavier on Nov. 15, 2007. It was also the 27th career 20-point game for Grant.

GRANT PASSES TWO ON SCORING LIST: With her 25-point performance against Drexel, senior Tyra Grant moved past Katina Mack and Jess Strom on Penn State's all-time scoring list. She is now in 11th place with 1,472 career tallies. Grant will move into a tie with Vicki Link (1,514) for 10th place on the all-time list 42 more points

FOUR STRAIGHT SEASON OPENING WINS: The Lady Lions picked up their fourth consecutive win in a season opener with the 71-61 decision over Drexel Friday. PSU is 34-12 in season openers all-time. The win also marked the 25th career win for Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington.

CAREER SCORING NIGHTS: A pair of Lady Lions turned in career scoring performances in the win at Drexel Friday. Sophomore Emily Phillips set a career high with six points. Her previous mark was five against Michigan (1/4/09). Senior Meredith Monroe also tied her career high with eight points (all in the first half). She also had eight tallies against Ohio State in the regular season finale last year.

The Lady Lions begin a four-game road trip on Thursday at Bucknell at 7 p.m., they will then travel to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks Sunday at 3 p.m. Following the Maine Thanksgiving tournament, Penn State returns to the Bryce Jordan Center on Wed., Dec. 2 to face Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at 6:30 p.m. Single-game tickets can be purchased by calling the Penn State ticket office at 814-865-5555.

The 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m., as the Lady Lions take on Illinois in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen on www.bigtennetwork.com. The first three Pink Zone events have raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer awareness. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
