UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (2-0) begin a four-game road swing Thursday night as they travel to Lewisburg to face Bucknell (0-2) at Sojka Pavilion at 7 p.m. The Lady Lions are 9-0 all-time against the Bison, including a 3-0 mark in road games. Penn State is looking to move to 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season. The game can be heard on the Penn State Sports Network, including locally on ESPN Radio 1450.

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions overcame a sluggish start and turned in a solid second half performance en route to a 79-57 win over NJIT Sunday. Freshman Alex Bentley led four Penn State players in double figures with 16 points and nine assists. Sophomore Zhaque Gray added 14 points and a career-best six rebounds.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL: The Bison have dropped their first two games of the season to Miami (Ohio) and Iona. Cosima Higham leads the team in scoring (12.5) and rebounding (8.5). Morgan Wrightson and Joyce Novacek are also averaging double figures for Bucknell.
ALL-TIME VS. THE BISON: The Lady Lions are a perfect 9-0 all-time against Bucknell, including a 3-0 mark in Lewisburg. Penn State earned an 81-44 win at the Bryce Jordan Center on Dec. 9, 2008, led by Tyra Grant's 24 points. The Lady Lions are also perfect against schools in the Patriot League with a 14-0 mark.
LAST TIME VS. BUCKNELL: The Lady Lions earned an 81-44 victory over the Bison on Dec. 9, 2008. Tyra Grant led the way for the Lady Lions with 24 points, while Brianne O'Rourke added 15 points and five assists. Penn State forced 30 Bucknell turnovers in the win.
BENTLEY DRIVES LADY LIONS: Freshman guard Alex Bentley led four Lady Lions in double figures against NJIT on Nov. 15 with points on 6-of-11 shooting. She also dished out nine assists and had two steals in the victory.
OLD HIGH SCHOOL FOES MEET AGAIN: Julia Trogele and Bucknell's Joyce Novacek faced off in the 2006-07 PIAA State Championship game at the Bryce Jordan Center. Novack's Hopewell team posted a 37-36 victory over Trogele and Villa Maria Academy in the Class AAA final. However, Trogele has the edge in collegiate games with wins in each of their first two meetings.
GRAY GETS #100; ZELLE GETS #1: Sophomore Zhaque Gray reached the 100-point plateau with 14 tallies in the win over NJIT Nov. 15, while freshman Gizelle Studevent recorded her first collegiate points against the Highlanders with four markers.
SMOOTH FROM THE LINE: Julia Trogele has made each of her nine attempts from the free throw line this season. Dating back to last year, the junior has made her last 12 free throws. Fellow junior Janessa Wolff is also perfect from the charity stripe this year with a 6-for-6 mark. She has made her last 13 from the free throw line, dating back to 2008-09.
The Lady Lions continue their four-game road trip in South Carolina when they take on the Gamecocks Sunday at 3 p.m. Penn State then travels to Maine for the Dead River Classic over Thanksgiving weekend, before returning to the Bryce Jordan Center on Wed., Dec. 2 to face Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at 6:30 p.m. Single-game tickets can be purchased by calling the Penn State ticket office at 814-865-5555.
The 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m., as the Lady Lions take on Illinois in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen on www.bigtennetwork.com. The first three Pink Zone events have raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer awareness. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
