CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 20, 2009 - The Nittany Lion basketball team (2-1) will look to rebound from an 80-61 loss to UNC Wilmington in the first round of the Charleston Classic on Thursday when they take on Tulane (0-2) at 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The second round Classic clash can be seen live on CSN Philadelphia and COX Sports in the Southeast. It can also be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network.
Tulane lost a 74-54 decision to Miami on Thursday as Kris Richard got 13 points and David Booker 12 for the Green Wave.
Penn State got a career-high tying 29 points from Talor Battle on Thursday but the Carolina First Arena baskets were unkind to Penn State as the Lions managed to shoot just 32 percent from the floor and 5-of-21 from three and trailed the last 37 minutes to a hot-shooting Seahawk team that hit 10-of-16 from three and shot 57 percent from the floor.
Penn State and Tulane have met just once with the with the Green Wave taking a 54-50 victory at the 1978 Dayton Invitational.
