Kansas City, Mo. - In the men's foil competition at the NAC B Tournament, freshman David Willette (Lafayette, Calif.), younger brother of two-time national winner Doris Willette, did extremely well in his first collegiate action. He finished in second place after he fell short against Notre Dame's Gerek Meinhardt. David had won all of his bouts prior to the one against Meinhardt.
Coach Emmanuil Kaidanov said he was very happy with Willette's performance in the competition.
The Penn State fencing team will return to State College on Monday and begin preparing for the Garrett Open, which is hosted here at Penn State starting Saturday, November 21.
The final results from the NAC B tournament can be seen at the US Fencing website, usfencing.org.
