NAPLES, Fla. -- The Penn State swimming teams are in Florida training during Winter Break in preparation for the home stretch. The Nittany Lions open the 2010 portion of their seasons with a Thursday clash against the Seminoles of Florida State.
Penn State heads back to the pool after a month layoff from competition, the last meet being the Ohio State Invitational (Dec. 4-6).
The men's squad enters Thursday's dual with a 2-2 overall record and a fifth-place showing at the OSU Invite. The women have a matching 2-2 record and finished fourth in the OSU Invitational.
Florida State's men's squad is 3-1 overall, while the women are 6-1. Both teams fell at Florida back on Nov. 24, the last competition for the Seminoles in the pool.
Last year, Penn State and Florida State faced off in a dual at Virginia with the FSU men's team coming out with a win, 225.5-127.5. The women's Nittany Lion squad defeated the Seminoles, 207-146.
