UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's gymnastics team travels to Denver, Colo. on Saturday, Jan. 16 to take on the Denver Pioneers and Air Force. Meet action begins at 6 p.m. MT in DU's Hamilton Gymnasium.
The Series: Penn State vs. Denver
The Nittany Lions have met Denver on four occasions. Penn State leads the series, which dates back to 2001, 3-1. In the first meeting at Denver on March 10, 2001, the Nittany Lions took first place in the quad meet with a score f 195.375. Denver took second scoring a 194.650. The two squads last met in 2007 in a meet at Arkansas. Penn State took third with a 194.575, while Denver placed fourth with a 194.125.
The Series: Penn State vs. Air Force
Penn State and Air Force have only met once in the history of the two programs. The Nittany Lions last met Air Force in 2001 in a quadrangular meet at Denver. Penn State finished first in the meet with a score of 195.375. Air Force placed fourth totaling 194.075.
What's Next
The Nittany Lions host their first home meet of the 2010 season on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. Penn State welcomes Cornell, Iowa and Yale to its home gym. The Lions remain at home for the following two weekends taking on Minnesota and Alabama on Jan. 30 and Illinois on Feb. 6. The Jan. 30 meet will be taped and broadcast on the Big Ten Network on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.
