UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (13-4, 5-2) have added the ability to donate online to the 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State on GoPSUsports.com. Visit the official Pink Zone website at GoPSUsports.com/pinkzone and click on the Donate Online link. Fans can donate in increments of $10 and $50. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
The Pink Zone game can be seen on www.bigtennetwork.com and re-aired as a "Student U" broadcast on the Big Ten Network on Monday, Jan. 25 at 9 a.m. The first three Pink Zone events have raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer awareness. The Pink Zone game will feature a survivor celebration at halftime, as well as the world premiere of the "We Can Be Strong" video. The first 2,000 fans will receive pink Lady Lion Basketball water bottle. There will be a silent auction on the concourse with several items available for bid, including Penn State sports memorabilia, professional sports memorabilia and other items. After the Pink Zone game on Jan. 24, the Lady Lions will hold a live jersey auction to sell their special Pink Zone jerseys to the highest bidder.
The Lady Lions are currently holding a Pink Zone online auction on GoPSUsports.com that will run from Wednesday, Jan. 13 through Wednesday, Feb. 3. There is a variety of memorabilia and experiences available through the Pink Zone online auction, including a timeshare for anywhere in the world, Penn State football experience for the Michigan game and autographed memorabilia. Penn State will donate $2 from every single-game ticket sold to the Pink Zone to the fundraising cause. All Penn State students will receive buy one ticket, get one ticket free for the Illinois game with valid ID. Single-game tickets can be purchased by calling the Penn State ticket office at 814-865-5555.
The Lady Lions hold several camps throughout the summer. There is a Lady Lion Basketball Camp available for girls of all ages, ranging from shooting camp to elite camp. The 2010 Lady Lion Basketball Camp schedule is as follows: Shooting Camp (June 13-15), Elite Camp (June 20-22), Skills Camp (June 20-23), Total Package Team Camp (June 24-26) and Games Galore Team Camp (August 6-8).
