UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's volleyball setter Edgardo Goas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was named the EIVA Player of the Week, conference officials announced. This is the second honor of Goas' career and the second for the Nittany Lions, as senior Will Price (Gaithersburg, Md.) was honored Jan. 18.
The redshirt sophomore guided Penn State to a 3-0 sweep of EIVA opponent Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 23. Goas dished out 38 assists (12.67 assists per set) in the match as the Lions attacked at a .235 clip. He tallied four kills on four errorless swings and also had two aces. Goas finished second on the team with six saves and also contributed two blocks.
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. Penn State welcomes Juniata to Rec Hall for the 36th meeting between the two squads. Live stats will be available via a link at GoPSUsports.com and the match will be streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com.
