GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala -- The United States U-20 Women's National Team downed border rival Mexico, 2-1, in Group B action at the CONCACAF Championship on Monday. With the win, Nittany Lion midfielder Christine Nairn (Arnold, Md.) and company will play Costa Rice on Thursday.

The U.S. needed goals by Vicky DiMartino and Syndey Leroux to hold off the Mexicans, who scored the first goal against the Americans in the tournament. The U.S. wins Group B, while Mexico takes second-place honors.

The United State will play Costa Rica on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., while Mexico will take on Nittany Lion defender Lexi Marton (Aurora, Ontario) and the Canadian U-20 team in the other semifinals. The winners of those two games will face off for the CONCACAF Championship, while clinching a berth into the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Germany this summer.
