Wolf Earns EIVA Player of the Week Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's volleyball outside hitter Ryan Wolf (York, Pa.) was named the EIVA Player of the Week, conference officials announced. This is the first honor of Wolf's career and the fourth for the Nittany Lions this season. Other PSU honorees in 2010 include, senior Will Price (Gaithersburg, Md.), redshirt sophomores Edgardo Goas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Joe Sunder (Greensburg, Pa.).

The sophomore helped guide the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 sweep of Princeton on Friday, Feb. 26. Wolf tied for first on the team with 11 kills and led Penn State with a .625 hitting percentage. He also recorded a team-best nine digs, while contributing two aces and two blocks for a total of 14 points.

For the match, Wolf averaged 3.67 kills per set, 3.00 digs per set and 0.67 aces per set and blocks per set.

The Nittany Lions are back in action on March 3 at Ohio State. Action is set for 7 p.m. Penn State returns to the South Gym of Rec Hall on Saturday, March 6 for a match with George Mason at 7 p.m.
