After heading into the final day leading the 2010 Pinehurst Intercollegiate, the Nittany Lion men's golf team finished tied for third after a 307 (+19) gave the team an 887 for the weekend. Virginia Tech won and was +12 (876). Old Dominion finished the three-day tournament second at +16 (887) and North Carolina Greensboro tied Penn State for third +23 (887).

Junior Tommy McDonagh (Wilton, Conn.) led Penn State with a three-round score of 220 (+4), which was tied for eighth among individuals. Nittany Lion seniors Kevin Foley (Sommerville, N.J.) and T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) finished just one stroke behind McDonagh in a dead-heat for eleventh with a 221 (+5). Freshman Ernie Marin (Miami, Fla.) and senior Jim Markovitz (Bridgeville, Pa.) rounded out the Nittany Lion line-up and ended play tied for 38 (+11, 227) and 62 (+15, 231), respectively. UNC-Greensboro's Robert Hoadley won the tournament with a 3-under par 213.

Penn State has a break in the action before heading to Delray Beach, Fla., for the FAU Spring Break Championship on March 26-28.
