UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.: March 23, 2010 - The Nittany Lion track and field program has cancelled the 2010 Jim Thorpe Invitational, which was originally set for Saturday, March 27, at Nittany Lion Track. A small group of Nittany Lions will get the season underway this weekend, competing at the Stanford Invitational, in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday and Saturday, March 26-27. The rest of the Nittany Lion squads will train through the weekend before heading into the Pepsi Florida Relays, scheduled for April 2-3, in Gainesville, Fla.
The Nittany Lions are coming off an outstanding indoor season, which was highlighted by top 15 finishes by both the men's and women's teams at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and a Big Ten Championship victory on the women's side.
