Liberty Collegiate Invitational Meet Information
LYNCHBURG, Va.: April 1, 2010 - Sophomore combined-events standout Anya Uzoh (Laurel, Md.) will compete in his first decathlon of the 2010 outdoor campaign this weekend, traveling to the Liberty Collegiate Invitational with the 10-discipline event scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday at Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex. The sophomore is coming off an outstanding indoor season, including a scoring performance in the heptathlon at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
Uzoh posted a fifth-place finish at the conference meet with a personal-best 5300 - just 25 points off NCAA-provisional status.
This weekend's decathlon will be Uzoh's first since the 2009 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships, were he totaled a personal-best total of 6671 for USATF Junior All-America honors. Uzoh also notched a third-place finish at Penn Relays as a freshman.
