Catch Former Nittany Lions Holt and Anderson in FIVB World League Action

June 8, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Former Nittany Lion men's volleyball players Matt Anderson and Max Holt are both members of the U.S. Men's National Volleyball Team competing in the 2010 FIVB World League. Despite suffering two early setbacks to Russia, the pair is back in action with the U.S. Men on June 11 in the first of two matches against Finland.

In a 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-14) setback in the World League opener on June 4, Anderson led the U.S. men with nine points on eight kills and one block. A day later, Anderson finished second on the team with 16 points (15 kills and one block) in a 3-1 (25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21) loss to Russia. Holt served as a substitute in both matches.

USA Volleyball announced Monday fans can watch the U.S. Men's National Volleyball Team in its 2010 FIVB World League contests on Comcast sports networks, included VERSUS and Comcast Sports Group regional outlets. Matches will air about two weeks after originally played.

Anderson and Holt guided Penn State to the 2008 National Championship, the second in program history. While Anderson by-passed his senior season to play professionally in Seoul, South Korea, Holt remained at Penn State and led the Nittany Lions to an appearance in the 2009 NCAA National Semifinals.
