Big Ten Network and ESPNews to Air Coverage of 39th Annual Big Ten Kickoff Activities

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - The Big Ten Network and ESPNEWS will air live coverage of the 2010 Big Ten Football Media Days on Monday, August 2 from Chicago. The Big Ten Network will have additional coverage from the 39th Annual Big Ten Kickoff on Tuesday, August 3.

Penn State coach Joe Paterno and student-athletes D'Anton Lynn (Celina, Ohio), Evan Royster (Fairfax, Va.) and Stefen Wisniewski (Bridgeville) will represent the Nittany Lions at the prestigious event as the Big Ten prepares for its 115th season of football competition.

The Big Ten Network will provide four hours of live coverage on Monday, including the full press conferences for all 11 head coaches and Big Ten Commissioner James E. Delany. Mike Hall and Chris Martin will anchor the network's coverage from the Big Ten Network studios beginning at 11 a.m. ET. The Big Ten Network will provide live online coverage of the media sessions on Monday and Tuesday via Twitter and www.BigTenNetwork.com. Monday's press conferences will be streamed live on www.BigTenNetwork.com, and the website will also feature blog updates, frequent video clips and interviews with Big Ten newsmakers.

On Tuesday, the Big Ten Football Saturday crew of Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith will sit down with Big Ten football coaches to get their thoughts just days ahead of preseason camp These interviews will be featured on a 90-minute Big Ten Kickoff Special that will air at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 7.

The Big Ten Network is available to 75 million households on 300 cable, satellite and telco providers in the United States and Canada, but is not available on Adams, Armstrong, Blue Ridge and MetroCast cable in Pennsylvania. The Big Ten Network will televise the Nittany Lions' Sept. 4 season opener with Youngstown State, with kickoff at 12:00 p.m. from Beaver Stadium.

For the fifth consecutive year, the opening session of the Big Ten Football Media Days will appear on an ESPN Network. Coverage by ESPNEWS will begin on Monday at 11 a.m. ET, and will feature all 11 head coaches and Commissioner Delany either live or tape-delayed as they address the assembled media. In addition, select Big Ten coaches and players will appear live on ESPN's College Football Live or on ESPNEWS.

The 2010 Kickoff Luncheon will take place Tuesday, August 3, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago with the annual players and coaches autograph and photo session set to begin at 10 a.m. CT, followed by the luncheon at 11:30 a.m. CT. ESPN's Rece Davis will serve as master of ceremonies.
