UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Forty radio stations in four states will carry the Penn State Sports Network's "Penn State Football Show presented by Safeco Insurance" in 2010, with the season debut program set to air Thursday. The program will also be carried live on GoPSUsports.com via Penn State All-Access as well as on XM Satellite Radio.
The one hour call-in program airs every Thursday at 6:05 p.m. from late August through the end of the football season. In late November, the "The Penn State Basketball Show presented by Safeco Insurance" will debut on most of the same Network stations and run through mid-March.
Joe Paterno, Ed DeChellis, assistant coaches and members of the football and Nittany Lion basketball teams also will be among participants on the programs.
"The Penn State Football Show presented by Safeco Insurance" will feature Joe Paterno answering questions that fans can submit by clicking here, and interviews with assistant coaches and current squad members.
Fans can call 1-800-52-LIONS (525-4667) to ask questions of the coaches and student-athletes.
Steve Jones, the radio play-by-play voice of the Nittany Lion football and basketball teams, is host of "The Penn State Football Show presented by Safeco Insurance." Jeff Tarman is the producer of the show, which is a presentation of Penn State Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports.
In addition to the stations carrying the program, all Penn State football and Nittany Lion basketball broadcasts can be heard on the 50-station Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics, as well as XM Satellite Radio. In order to listen to the streamed Penn State broadcast on GoPSUsports.com, listeners will need to subscribe to Penn State All-Access on the front page of the website.
The "The Penn State Football Show presented by Safeco Insurance" can be heard on stations throughout Pennsylvania as well as New York City and northern New Jersey, Youngstown, Ohio and Hagerstown, Md.
No. 14 Penn State hosts Youngstown State in the season opener on Sept. 4 at 12:00 p.m. in Beaver Stadium. The contest will air on the Big Ten Network, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
