ZIONSVILLE, IN. - Freshman Michael Miller (Brewster, N.Y.) shot a first-round one-under par 70, to lead the Lions at Wolf Run. Miller is currently in ninth place of the 81-player field with a two-round total of 145. Miller finished the day seven strokes behind first-place UFC's Connor Arendell.
The Nittany Lions ended play Saturday in 13th with team totals of 299-302 (601). Penn State finished 23 shots back from first place team Illinois. Illinois played a solid two rounds of 290-288 (578) to secure a 7-stroke lead over second place UCF.
Junior John Burke (Bay Village, Ohio) shot an even par 71 in the second round of play, finishing the day 78-71 (149), tied for 30. Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) fired a two-round 76-78 (154), tying for 59. Senior T.J. Howe finished the day 77-78 (155), tied at 65. Senior Jason Cohan (Wayne, Pa.) carded a 76-83 (159).
Penn State will join the rest of the field at 8:30 tomorrow morning for the final round.
