UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will take the links at River Marsh Golf Club in Cambridge this weekend to compete in the third annual Maryland Intercollegiate. Maryland will host 14 teams for the two-day tournament. Two rounds will be played on Saturday, Sept. 18 with the final round played Sunday, Sept. 19. The par-71 course stretches 6,801 yards.
The teams participating in this weekend's tournament are: Maryland, Francis Marion, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Navy, UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Penn, South Carolina - Aiken, Toledo, William & Mary and Xavier.
This will be Penn State's first appearance in the tournament. The lineup will consist of seniors T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) and Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.), sophomores Ernesto Marin (Miami, FL) and Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.), and freshman Michael Miller (Brewster, N.Y.). DeGol will make his collegiate debut this weekend after being added to the roster late last week.
The Nittany Lions opened the fall season last weekend at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. Penn State took 12th in the two-day tournament with a team score of 899 (299-302-298), led by Miller.
