Women's Tennis' Petra Januskova Wins Consolation Bracket of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Sophomore Petra Januskova (Ottawa, Canada) defeated No. 1 seed Alexandra Kichoutkin of Tulsa, 6-3, 6-4 in the consolation final of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational. Kichoutkin is the 47th-ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings.

Both Januskova and Kichoutkin received a first round bye but were knocked out in the opening round at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational which allowed the highly ranked players to compete in the consolation bracket.

In the semifinals, Januskova defeated Rice's Jessica Jackson, 7-6, 6-3.

Januskova will be back in action at the All American Qualifiers and the rest of the Nittany Lions will continue play October 1-3 at the Hokie Fall Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
