UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will send members of the two-time defending NCAA Champions into action this weekend. The Nittany Lions will host the Penn State Junior Open/Lion Open this Saturday Sunday in the White Building. Action begins each day at 9 a.m.
Head coach Emmanuil Kaidanov's team returns five All-Americans from last year's NCAA title team. The Nittany Lions out-distanced St. John's to claim their second straight national title last year, the 12th in school history. The 12 team titles are an NCAA record. The final roster of Nittany Lions competing will be decided later this week.
Penn State will return to action in two weeks, travelling to the Temple Open in Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 6-7.
