2010 NCAA Bracket

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's soccer team learned its NCAA Tournament destination Monday afternoon as the Nittany Lions will play Penn hosted by West Virginia on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The at-large bid is PSU's 16th straight appearance in the tournament.

"Earning a bid to the tournament is a great reward for this team," head coach Erica Walsh said. "This group has battled back and we're very excited about playing this weekend and making a run in the tournament."

Penn State (10-8-1) won a share of its 13th straight Big Ten title on Sunday afternoon thanks to a 1-0 double-overtime victory over Michigan. Due partly to that win, and also the 7-1 record down the stretch, the Nittany Lions solidified their NCAA at-large bid.

Game time against the Nittany Lions-Quakers match is set for 3:30 p.m. Following that game is the West Virginia-Morehead State match at 6:00 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Stadium in Morgantown. West Virginia has the No. 3 seed in the Portland bracket.

The meeting with the Quakers will be the first meeting for Penn State in women's soccer. Penn earned its NCAA bid by virtue of its automatic bid from the Ivy League. Penn State already faced West Virginia this season, winning at Dlesk Stadium, 2-1, in the first game of the year. The Lions and Morehead State have never faced off on the soccer field.
