UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Nov. 15, 2010 - The Nittany Lion basketball team (1-0) will look to improve to 2-0 to start a season for the sixth-straight time Tuesday when they take on intrastate rival Saint Joseph's (0-1) in a 7:30 p.m. tip at the Jordan Center.

The game will be shown on ESPN3 (webstream) and can be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network (1450 AM locally) with Steve Jones and Dick Jerardi. It will be "Dollar Dog Night" at the Jordan Center and fans will receive key chain schedule cards while supplies last.

Penn State used a 49-point second half and 59 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes to down Lehigh 70-56 last Friday to win its sixth-straight season opener. Talor Battle led the Lions with 21 points, his 31st career 20-point or better game, and passed Geary Claxton to move into sixth on the all-time Penn State scoring charts with 1,547 points. David Jackson added 14 points and Jeff Brooks had 10 points and a career-best five blocks in the game.

Penn State and Saint Joseph's will be meeting for the third time in the last five seasons after a 15-year hiatus in the series after the Nittany Lions' departure from the A-10. Penn State leads the series 13-9 and has won seven of the last eight meetings. However, Saint Joseph's won the last meeting, 79-67, at The Palestra in 2007.

The Hawks had a disappointing opening night as they fell 98-70 to Western Kentucky in Philadelphia. The Hawks start three freshmen and a sophomore and prefer a fast-paced quick shooting style. Guard Carl Jones led the Hawks with 17 point in the opener while Langston Galloway chipped in 13.
