UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State swimming & diving programs will travel to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers and Big Ten foe Indiana for a two-day double dual meet beginning Friday at 2:00 p.m. Saturday's action from Charlottesville, Va. will start at 11:00 a.m. Live results will be available through VirginiaSports.com.
The Nittany Lion women are coming off a resounding 187-113 victory over Virginia Tech on Oct. 23 at McCoy Natatorium. Penn State (2-0) looks to avenge last year's 183-156 loss to the Cavs, a series which PSU leads 13-12 all-time. Last week, No. 9 Virginia defeated Virginia Tech and Princeton in the UVa Invitational.
The 15th-ranked Indiana women dropped two duals on Oct. 29-30 to Texas (188-182) and Michigan (189-173) to fall to 2-2 on the year. The Nittany Lions are an outstanding 11-0 against the Hoosiers.
On the men's side, PSU will search for its first win of 2010-11 against No. 11 Virginia and No. 10 Indiana. Penn State (0-2) is 10-17 all-time against the Cavaliers who also swept Virginia Tech and Princeton in the UVa Invitational.
Indiana is 2-1-1 after a 0-1-1 weekend against Michigan (T, 150-150) and Texas (L, 181-119) on Nov. 5 in Bloomington. Indiana is 2-3 against the Nittany Lions.
Diving events kick off the two-day meet at 2:00 p.m. on Friday with swimming events set for a 6:00 p.m. start. Swimming resumes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with the 200 medley relay.
