UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Nov. 22, 2010 - The Nittany Lion basketball team (3-0) will look to improve to 4-0 to start a season for just the fifth time in the Big Ten era Monday when they take on unbeaten Central Connecticut State (3-0) in a 7:00 p.m. tip at the Jordan Center.

The game will be shown on Big Ten Network and can be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network (1450 AM locally) with Steve Jones and Dick Jerardi. It is "Tweet Night" at the Jordan Center. Any fans following the Penn State basketball tweeters @PSUSTRETCH, @GoPSULC and @GoPSUHOOPS can print off a voucher from those accounts for $5 off a ticket for the game.

Penn State downed MAAC favorite Fairfield, 64-49, on Friday to improve to 3-0. Senior Jeff Brooks continued his best-ever start once again posting career highs with 19 points and nine rebounds and hitting a career-best 4-of-5 from three. Brooks enters Monday averaging 15.7 points and nine rebounds a game and leading the team hitting 65.5 percent from the floor. Talor Battle posted his 32nd career 20-point game in the contest to move into fourth all-time on the Penn State scoring charts with 1,582 points. He enters Monday leading the Lions averaging 18.7 ppg.

Penn State and CCSU will be meeting for just the second time. The Lions posted an 85-62 victory over the Blue Devils in Rec Hall in 1994. Penn State is 13-0 vs. teams from the Northeast Conference under Ed DeChellis.

The Blue Devils are off to a 3-0 start after an 82-74 victory at UMBC on Saturday, their second-straight 80-point game. Junior forward Ken Horton led CCSU with 24 points and added 11 rebounds in the game. Horton also had a career high 34 in a win over Army last Monday and leads CCSU posting 21.3 ppg. Senior guard Shemik Thompson became the Blue Devils 32nd 1,000-point scorer in the game and is averaging 20 ppg. The Blue Devils are averaging 82.3 ppg as a team.
