The Penn State Fencers Look To Take The Temple Open

Nov. 3, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Nittany Lions are back in action this week and heading to Philadelphia. Temple University is hosting the event, which will be taking place Saturday and Sunday, Nov 6-7. Action will begin at 8 a.m both days.

Members of the two-time defending NCAA champions are returning after a weekend off from competitive action. Both the men's and women's teams turned in strong performances two weeks ago as hosts of the Penn State Junior Open/Lion Open. The sophomore was just named the Junior World Cup Points Winner for the 2009-2010 season by the FIE.

Head coach Emmanuil Kaidanov is looking to lead his team to another NCAA championship this year, which would be the 13th in school history. The final roster for this weekends competition will be decided later this week.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action next weekend, Nov. 13-14, when they host the 39th annual Garrett Penn State Open. Action will begin at 8:30 a.m on both days.
