UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's golf coach Denise St. Pierre has announced the signing of three student-athletes who will join the program for the 2011-12 season. Elyse Archambault, Katlyn Elliott and Erin Michel will all join the squad.
"All three of these players have numerous junior tournament experiences and have excelled amongst a competitive junior circuit," said St. Pierre. "We are excited to have them join us next fall."
A native of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Canada, Archambault brings a long list of junior golf accolades. She comes to Penn State as the No. 1 ranked golfer in Quebec and the No. 16 ranked golfer nationally.
Elliott, a native of Peterborough, Ontario, was the district girl's amateur champion. She claimed a third place finish at the 2010 PGA Junior Series event at the Penn State Golf Course with a five-over-par 221. Elliot also finished third in the 2010 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls Championship.
Michel comes to the squad from Mason, Ohio, where she helped lead the Mason Comets to a high school state championship. A Cincinnati Enquirer Division I first team all-area selection and a first-team all-district honoree, Michel finished 10th in the state tournament.
