UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team announced that prized recruit Tomas Hanzlik (Prague, Czech Republic) has signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Nittany Lions. Hanzlik will begin his Penn State career in 2011-2012
Tomas sports a career-high junior world ranking of #83 according to the International Tennis Federation. Hanzlik also was ranked in the top eight junior players in his native Czech Republic. He has earned a career record of 71-67 on the ITF junior circuit.
"We are very excited to have Tomas joining us next year," said head coach Todd Doebler. We feel he will be an excellent addition to the program because of his extensive tournament experience and an outstanding work ethic."
The new Nittany Lion has participated in the junior qualifying draws of the French Open and U.S. Open. He has also participated in the main draw of the prestigious Orange Bowl Junior Championship.
