Men's Tennis Adds Chris Young to Roster

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Penn State men's tennis team announced today that Chris Young (Melbourne, Australia) has joined the Nittany Lions. Young will begin his Penn State career in 2011.

Before deciding to join the Nittany Lions, Young posted a career-high junior world ranking of #138 according to the International Tennis Federation (ITF). He also was attained a high ranking of #88 in Australian men's rankings. He has earned a career record of 38-35 on the ITF junior circuit. The newest Nittany Lion has also participated in junior qualifying draws of the Australian Open.

"It is very exciting that Chris Young will be playing for us this spring. We feel he will come in and help us right away in singles and doubles," said Coach Todd Doebler.

Penn State will begin the 2011 season by hosting a double header Sunday, January 23. The Nittany Lions will take on St. Bonaventure at 10 a.m. and Lehigh at 3 p.m.
