UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore Sharaya Musser (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named Co-Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. She shares the award with Allison Buckley of Illinois.
Musser turned in two first place performances en route to the all-around title against New Hampshire on Saturday, Jan. 22 and Co-Gymnast of the Week honors. Musser scored a season-high 39.400 in the all-around, taking first place on vault (9.925) and balance beam (9.875) to help the Nittany Lions defeat the Wildcats. She also turned in second-place finishes on floor (9.850) and on the uneven bars (9.750).
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Friday, Jan. 28 at Florida in a tri-meet with N.C. State. Action is set for 7 p.m. Penn State returns home on Sunday, Feb. 6 to host Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Bridgeport at 2 p.m. in Rec Hall.
