ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Penn State women's swimming & diving team will head to Michigan for a battle of ranked teams as the No. 25 Nittany Lions square off with the No. 15 Wolverines on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Canham Natatorium.

Penn State (6-2) enters the meet riding a wave of momentum as the squad has gone 4-0 since the start of the New Year. Last week, the Lions continued their winning ways with a dominating 157-63 victory over St. Bonaventure at the McCoy Natatorium. Chelsea Weedman headlined the meet as she posted the top time in the 100-butterfly and 100-breaststroke.
Michigan enters the weekend with a 5-5 record. The squad faces Michigan State on Friday before hosting the Lions on Saturday. The Wolverines have battled a tough slate this year as the team has faced six ranked teams, including Stanford, Texas, and Cal, who all rank in the top-five.
Overall, the Lions stand 3-8 all-time against the Wolverines dating back to their first battle in 1978. They last competed in a dual meet on January 18, 2002 when Penn State downed Michigan, 129-114.
Saturday's competition will feature four of the Big Ten's top competitors in the butterfly. In the 100-yard discipline, Mackenzie Powers has the second-fastest time in the conference this season, while Michigan's Caitlin Dauw ranks third. In the 200-fly, Alexandra Young holds the top clocking in the league this year, while the Wolverine's Adrienne Bicek is third.
After this weekend, Penn State will return home to wrap up the regular season slate with a showdown against Lehigh on February 5 at 11 a.m.
