UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With just over a month to go before the Penn State baseball and softball programs kick off the home portion of their 2011 schedules, the Nittany Lions have announced ticket information for the upcoming seasons.
The 2011 campaign will feature 23 home games for the Penn State baseball team, while the softball squad has 16 games during its inaugural season in the new Nittany Lion Softball Park.
Individual game tickets for baseball remain the same as last year with "In-the-Box" reserved seating in sections 106 and 107 available for $6, while adult general admission seating is $4. Students and youth (12 & under) can purchase a general admission ticket for $2.
In addition to the general pricing, fans and families can also purchase a "4-for-$24" package. With that, fans receive four general admission tickets, four hot dogs, and four small sodas for $24.
A slew of group packages are also available for games throughout the year. Groups of 20 or more can purchase individual game tickets for $3 a piece. Along with those, ballpark suites can also be rented during the 2011 season. A 20-person suite, which includes 20 tickets, is available for $200/game, while a 40-person suite, which comes with 40 tickets, can be reserved for $400 per contest.
For folks looking to catch all of the exciting home action during the 2011 campaign, season tickets are also available. "In-the-Box" tickets, located in sections 106 and 107, are $99 per seat. General admission tickets are also available at a cost of $63 for adults and $20 for students and youth.
Penn State opens the season on Friday at 10 a.m. when the Nittany Lions battle Seton Hall in the first game of the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Penn State softball program will enter a new era in 2011 with the opening of Nittany Lion Softball Park. The Nittany Lions will be hosting 16 games at the new $10.2 million facility starting with a four-game set against Buffalo (Mar. 24) and Wisconsin (Mar. 26-27).
PSU will be charging $5 for general admission tickets, $3 per person for groups of 10 or more. Penn State students will be free of charge with a PSU ID. Tickets will be available on game days at the Nittany Lion Park box office. For more information call 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269).
