Comfort Earns EIVA Player of the Week Accolades

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore Tom Comfort (Orchard Park, N.Y.) has been named the EIVA Tait Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Comfort led the Nittany Lions to two conference victories over the weekend. This is the fourth honor for the Nittany Lions this season and the second for Comfort.

The Nittany Lions had a midweek matchup against Saint Francis where Comfort pounded 14 kills, hitting .355. He also tallied five digs and three blocks against the Red Flash and totaled 15.5 points. Against George Mason on Saturday, Feb. 26, Comfort finished second on the team with 15 kills, while registering a .565 attack percentage. He also put up five blocks to finish the match with 17.5 points. For the week, Comfort averaged 4.41 kills, 1.29 digs, 1.14 blocks and 4.71 points per set.

What's Next?
Penn State remains on the road traveling to Springfield on Saturday, March 5. The Nittany Lions then travel to UCLA on March 9, before taking on UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State on March 11-12.
