UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The ninth-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team (7-2) is back on the road for the first time in three weeks with a visit to No. 6 Ohio State on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Action is set for 7 p.m. in St. John Arena.

Penn State Preview
The Nittany Lions improved to 7-2 overall this season after a 3-1 loss to UC Irvine and a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Northridge on Feb. 4-5. Redshirt junior Joe Sunder (Greensburg, Pa.) led the Lions with 3.86 kills per set, while redshirt freshman Scott Kegerreis (Honeybrook, Pa.) was second on the team with 3.29 kills per set. Redshirt junior Edgardo Goas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) paced the Nittany Lion offense with 11.43 assists per set and senior libero Dennis Del Valle (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) had 3.43 digs per set. Sophomore Ian Hendries (Cardiff, Calif.) was a wall at the net with 1.20 blocks per set.

Penn State vs. Ohio State
Penn State is 64-23-1 all time versus the Buckeyes. Last season, the Nittany Lions and the Buckeyes met three times. On Jan. 9 in the final match of the Hawaii Outrigger Invitational, Penn State defeated Ohio State, 3-1. Penn State traveled to Columbus on March 3 and dealt the Buckeyes a 3-0 loss. However, the Buckeyes visited Rec Hall on March 21 and earned a 3-1 victory against the Nittany Lions.

Scouting the Buckeyes
The sixth-ranked Buckeyes are 6-2 so far this season. Despite opening 2011 with back-to-back losses to Pepperdine, Ohio State has won six matches in a row. Most recently, the Buckeyes were at Rec Hall taking on Cal State Northridge and UC Irvine. OSU swept the Matadors before defeating the Anteaters, 3-2.

What's Next?
The Nittany Lions remain at home for the next two weekends. On Feb. 11-12, Penn State hosts Rutgers-Newark and Princeton before welcome Mount Olive and Lees McRae to Rec Hall on Feb. 18-19.
