Lady Lions Await NCAA Tournament Announcement Monday

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - After more than a week-long wait, the Penn State Lady Lions (24-9, 11-5) will finally find out their NCAA Tournament fate on Monday when the NCAA Tournament selection show airs from 7-8 p.m. on ESPN on Monday, March 14. There will also be extended coverage from 8-9 p.m. on ESPNU. The Selection Monday Special will feature Trey Wingo, Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck. Additionally, Doris Burke and Rebecca Lobo will provide additional analysis on the special.

The Lady Lions are currently 24-9 overall and 11-5 in Big Ten play. Penn State finished second in the regular-season Big Ten standings and was the runner-up in the Big Ten Tournament. The Lady Lions are looking for their 22nd overall berth into the NCAA Tournament and their first since the 2004-05 season. Guard Maggie Lucas (Narberth, Pa.) was selected as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Sixth Player of the Year, while sophomore guard Alex Bentley (Indianapolis, Ind.) became the 11th player in school history to earn first team All-Big Ten honors by the coaches.

All-session and single-session tickets for the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament first and second rounds at the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday, March 19 and Monday, March 21 are now available and can be purchased by calling 814-865-5555 or visiting the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The University Park first round games will take place Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., while the second round game will take place Monday, March 21 at 7 p.m.

All-session tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $15 for youth and students with a valid ID. Single-session tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth and students. Groups of 20 or more can purchase single-session tickets for $8 each.
