UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - For the third straight week a member of the Penn State men's volleyball team has been named the EIVA Player of the Week. Redshirt junior Edgardo Goas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was named this week's conference player of the week for the Tait Division. This is Goas' second honor of the season.
Goas led the Nittany Lion offense against three nationally-ranked opponents, including then No. 8 UCLA, as well as UCSB and Long Beach State, both tied at No. 5. Against the Bruins, Goas scored eight points off of six kills and three blocks. He had 49 assists, while guiding Penn State to a .234 attack percentage. Versus the Gauchos, Goas tallied another 49 assists and guided Penn State's offense to an impressive .449 attack percentage. He also contributed one kill, one ace and one block with two digs. To close out the week at Long Beach, Goas dished out 41 assists and had six kills and three blocks.
What's Next?
The Nittany Lions are back at home March 18-19 hosting Ball State and IPFW. On Friday, Penn State takes on the Cardinals at 7 p.m. at Rec Hall, following by IPFW on Saturday also at 7 p.m.
