2011 Penn State Girls' Volleyball Camps
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Registration is open for the 2011 Penn State Girls' Volleyball Camps. There will be five camps during the months of June and July, including two Team Camps (July 9-12 & July 12-15), two Team Competition Camps (July 22-24 & July 29-31) and an Instructional Camp (June 27-30).
Registration for the 2011 camps is open and can be completed online or by mail. Enrollment is limited and early registration is encouraged. The Instructional Camp set for June 27-30 is already full. However, Penn State maintains a wait list for its sport camps. Registration fees may be paid by credit via the online system or by mailing a check with the registration form.
The Penn State Girls' Volleyball Instructional Camp is designed for students entering grades seven through 12 during Fall 2011. The Team Camp and Team Competition Camps are designed for students entering grades nine through 12 during Fall 2011. The instructional camp consists of lectures, demonstrations and daily drill sessions designed to teach the skills and techniques of modern volleyball. The team camps are designed to provide varsity high school and/or club teams with the opportunity to train and compete under the direction and guidance of an outstanding coaching staff. Each team camp will have tactical training sessions, technical pressure training and daily competitions. The team competition camps are created to help junior varsity and varsity teams prepare for their upcoming seasons.
Coaching staff for the 2011 camps includes Penn State head women's volleyball coach Russ Rose, assistant coaches Dennis Hohenshelt and Kaleena Davidson, as well as selected high school and college coaches and varsity players. All five camps are conducted on Penn State's University Park campus in State College, Pa. Resident campers are housed in University resident halls and supervised by camp counselors.
