UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's soccer team travels to East Brunswick, N.J. to face Sky Blue FC an exhibition. Penn State is looking to regain its form following a loss to Philadelphia Independence on Mar. 23.
Penn State opened the Spring Schedule with convincing wins over Akron, 2-0, and Saint Joseph's, 7-0, back in February led by five goals from Maya Hayes (West Orange, N.J.) between the two 60-minute matches at Holuba Hall.
Unfortunately, PSU suffered a setback last week against Philly, dropping a 5-1 decision to the WPS runner-up in Downingtown, Pa. Christine Nairn (Arnold, Md.) tallied Penn State's lone goal, while freshman Emily Hurd (Sammamish, Wash.) notched the assist as the two teams played three 35-minute periods.
Sky Blue FC won the inaugural 2009 Women's Pro Soccer Championship and is seeking a return trip to glory. The Penn State-Sky Blue FC match will take place at Dideriksen Park in East Brunswick, N.J. Directions to the field can be found HERE.
