UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Nittany Lion men's lacrosse player Shane Sturgis (Downingtown, Pa.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 13. The award is the second for the Penn State freshman.
Sturgis had a four-point burst in Penn State's tough 14-13 home conference loss to Drexel, scoring a goal and dishing off three assists. Sturgis now leads Penn State in scoring with team highs in both goals (15) and assists (15).
Penn State is now 5-5, 2-1 in the CAA. The Nittany Lions host Towson on Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Jeffrey Field and will serve as Senior Night for Penn State.
