Softball DH at Ohio State Postponed to May 11

April 26, 2011

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Wednesday's Penn State-Ohio State twinbill at Buckeye Field has been postponed due to anticipated inclement weather. The two-game Big Ten series will be made up May 11.

An active storm front that is currently bringing thunderstorms to much of the Midwest and Northeast is expected to continue its poor softball forecast on Wednesday. Coaching staffs from Penn State and Ohio State agreed to move the games back to May 11 at Buckeye Field before the Nittany Lion squad departed from Happy Valley.

Penn State will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Purdue for a 5 p.m. game at Beard Field. The second matchup of the two-game series takes place at Noon on Sunday with a live broadcast on Big Ten Network.

The Nittany Lions will be encouraging fans to wear blue to the game as a Code Blue is enforced for the weekend and t-shirts will be given away. Additionally, Kids Club Day will be featured on Sunday with a post-game autograph session.
