UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Three former Penn State women's volleyball players have been selected to the preliminary roster for the 27th Annual Montreux Volley Masters Tournament in Montreux, Switzerland on June 7-12. Alisha Glass (Leland, Mich.), Christa Harmotto (Aliquippa, Pa.) and Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio) were selected to the 19-player preliminary roster by U.S. Women's National Team head coach Hugh McCutcheon. In addition, head coach Russ Rose is the designated team leader for the event.
The U.S. Women, who are currently ranked second in the world, won the silver medal at last year's Montreux event. Both Fawcett and Harmotto were part of the 2010 U.S. Women's Team that won the silver medal. The U.S. also medaled at Montreux in 1991, 1995, 1996 and 2004.
The U.S. opens the 2011 Montreux Volley Masters on June 7 against Peru before facing Germany on June 9 and China on June 10. Semifinals are set for June 12.
