RADFORD, Va. - With one round remaining at the NCAA Virginia Tech Regional at the Pete Dye River Course, senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) sits tied for 22 with a two-round total of 149 (73-76).

Howe, who went into the tournament as the top seeded individual competitor, is currently four strokes behind Oklahoma's Abraham Ancer and Georgia Tech's Kyle Scott who share the overall first place position.

Howe started out even on the back nine and carried a 1-over par score through until the 17th hole. He bogeyed the 18th hole to put him at 2-over par going to the front nine. On the first hole, Howe shot an even-par four and went on to capture two birdies on the third and fourth holes to place him back at even par. The 497-yard fourth hole presented a challenge for Howe as he double-bogeyed the hole to give him a 3-over par score of 56 going into the final five holes. Howe shot even par on the fifth through eighth holes and bogeyed the ninth to place him with a final score of 76 (4-over par) for the second round.

Georgia Tech was able to hold onto the first place position through the second round, however, second-place Duke closed the gap as they improved five strokes in between rounds to place them just 3 strokes behind the Yellow Jackets. The low five teams will continue on to the NCAA National Championship May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla.

The final round of competition for the Virginia Tech Regionals will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. For live scoring please visit Golfstat. For more information on Howe please visit GoPSUsports.com.
