Penn State-Temple Kick Set for Noon in Philadelphia

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - Penn State's return to Philadelphia and a clash with Temple on Sept. 17 has been set for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field. The game will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU HD, as well as the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.

The contest against the Owls is the Nittany Lions' fifth announced kick time for the 2011 season.

Penn State and Temple will be meeting for the sixth consecutive year and 41st time overall. The Nittany Lions lead the series, 36-3-1, winning 22-13 last year in Beaver Stadium. Penn State's last visit to Lincoln Financial Field was in 2007, with the visitors winning, 31-0.

The Nittany Lions and Owls are scheduled to play in Beaver Stadium in 2012, '14 and '16, with a contest in Philadelphia during the 2015 season.

The contest in Philadelphia will be a homecoming for the more than a dozen Nittany Lions who hail from the Delaware Valley, including: DT Anthony Alosi (Marlton, N.J.), G Mark Arcidiacono (Holland), WR Justin Brown (Wilmington, Del.), WR Curtis Drake (Philadelphia), WR Andrew Goodman (Philadelphia), LB Gerald Hodges (Paulsboro, N.J), WR Shawney Kersey (Woodbury, N.J.), DE Eric Latimore (Middletown, Del.), DE Pete Massaro (Newtown Square), DT Devon Still (Wilmington, Del.), TE Andrew Szczerba (Wilmington, Del.), DT James Terry (New Castle, Del.) and G Johnnie Troutman (Brown Mills, N.J.)

www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets. Tickets for the Temple game are $70 (lower level) and $60 (upper level). Seat locations for fans who purchase tickets from Penn State will be determined by Nittany Lion Club point total order.

Penn State had previously announced the kick times and TV for three home contests and one away game during its 125th season celebration:

All remaining Penn State kick times and TV information most likely will be announced 12 days prior to game, starting on Sept. 12 for the home game with Eastern Michigan, which is Sept. 24.

The game in Lincoln Financial Field will be the third different NFL stadium Penn State has played in during the past two seasons. Penn State played Indiana at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. last November and battled Florida in the 2011 Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Nittany Lions return 41 letterwinners and 15 starters for the 2011 season, (7 offense, 7 defense, 1 specialist), as well as 17 players that have starting experience.

Since the start of the 2005 season, Penn State has earned a 58-19 (75.3) record, tied with Oregon for No. 12 in the nation. Over the past six years the Nittany Lions have won two Big Ten Championships, won four bowl games and played in five New Year's or Bowl Championship Series (BCS) games, the nation's third-highest total.

Season tickets are available for the 2011 season. The Nittany Lions will face seven teams that played in bowl games last year, including four at home. Among the teams coming to Beaver Stadium this fall are: Alabama, Iowa (Oct. 8), Purdue, Illinois (Oct. 29) and new Big Ten member Nebraska (Nov. 12). The Nittany Lions and Cornhuskers will annually meet starting this fall.
