DAHLONEGA, Ga. - During the first round of the Second Annual Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship, sophomores Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) and Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) of the Penn State women's golf team withdrew from competition on Tuesday due to injury.
The three-round tournament, presented by the National Golf Coaches Association, will run until Thursday (Aug. 4). The Championship, which consists of nearly 60 teams from all three NCAA divisions, is being played at the par-72, 6,995-yard Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
The Penn State women's golf team will open its season at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C., from Sept. 11-13. Penn State will also host the 36th Nittany Lion Invitational from Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
