Sept. 11, 2011
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Sept. 11, 2011 - Penn State students have an opportunity to make the three-hour trip to Philadelphia and attend the Nittany Lions' Sept. 17 clash against unbeaten Temple. Students who want to attend the game can purchase a ticket at Gate B (northeast corner) of the Bryce Jordan Center beginning Monday, Sept. 12 at 7 a.m.
A limited number of tickets will be made available on a first-come, first served basis for the contest at Lincoln Financial Field. Each student will be permitted to purchase one $70 ticket and must present a valid Penn State ID+ Card to secure a ticket. All sales of all tickets will be done on a cash only basis. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.
If student tickets still remain after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the sale will move from Gate B to the Athletic Ticket Office inside the BJC. Student tickets will not be available after 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
Penn State (1-0) and Temple (2-0) will meet at 12:00 p.m. The game will air on ESPN, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
Students wanting to purchase tickets so that they may sit together at the Temple game will need to make their ticket purchase together at Gate B of the BJC Monday morning. Students may arrive at the Jordan Center at 6 a.m. on Monday for the sale.
Should demand dictate it, tickets will be sold through a wristband lottery. If the number of students in line by 7 a.m. exceeds the number of student tickets allocated for the Temple game, a wristband lottery will be held. Students not in line by the time of the sale, 7 a.m., will not be included in the wristband lottery, should one be held.
Penn State students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for every away game the Monday prior to each contest, with the lone exception being the season-ending game at Wisconsin (Nov. 26) due to Thanksgiving break from classes. The Wisconsin sale will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15, one day after the student sale for the clash at Ohio State.
Penn State defeated Temple, 22-13, last season and leads the series, 36-3-1. Public tickets for the contest are available by calling 1-814-865-5555 or at www.ticketmaster.com.
