UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Sept. 19, 2011 - One lucky supporter will drive off in a 2011 Dodge Challenger when the sixth annual Coaches Vs. Cancer Reverse Drawing is held Thursday, Sept. 22 at Penn State's Medlar Field at Lubrano Park baseball complex.
The event will kickoff the Penn State-CVC chapter's drive toward a total of $2 million raised in its 16th year and first under the direction of Nittany Lion basketball coach Patrick Chambers. An overwhelming success in its previous five years, nearly 800 people attended last year's Reverse Drawing event raising a record of more than $41,000 for Penn State-CVC and the American Cancer Society.
"My staff and I are all in with continuing Penn State Coaches vs. Cancer's efforts," Penn State coach Patrick Chambers said. " We not only want to fight cancer but we look forward to supporting those affected by this horrible disease in our community. We have heard great things about the Reverse Car Drawing - the atmosphere, the food, the music and of course the tremendous sponsor support."
Only 400 tickets priced at $350 each are being sold to the one-of-a-kind gala event hosted by Catering with Style and the Rallis family. Tickets include admittance for two, butler service, fabulous food and drinks, musical entertainment, fireworks, the Penn State Blue Band and a chance to win a 2011 Dodge Challenger valued at over $40,000 or a $25,000 cash prize. Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. at the home of the State College Spikes and Penn State baseball with the stadium concourse transformed into a garden party with landscaping and ice sculptures. Names will be drawn at intervals throughout the night until one person is left standing to claim the car. You do not have to be present to win.
